"India was never part of the plan. I landed here for work and a whole lot of curiosity.
I have done maps, street view and many videos but none of these are enough to understand a country like this one. Every day you wake up to something new: words, sounds, visuals, smells, situations that may look quite extraordinary in the West.
It is an ambivalent place where extremes blend naturally. The most captivating country I have ever visited; everything you see looks from another dimension.
When I decided to embark the journey, my then boyfriend gave me a guide to India, which conveniently announced: "Expect the unexpected". And so I did.
As a foreigner coming from the other side of the world, you realize we have been living in such a different reality, the first thing that happens is the inevitable cultural shock.
Even buying bed sheets can be a challenge!
I can't stop taking photos as a way of documenting my experience. I try local food, clothes, music, Bollywood films, learn some basic hindi to get along... everything that can help me decode the cultural diversities that coexist in the cradle of civilization.
You either love it or hate it. Well, possibly both.
If you ask me if I would do this again, I'd say a thousand times more."
